Course Goal

To provide the learner with the basic skills and knowledge to safely and confidently perform his/her duties within the provincial guidelines for WHMIS.



The provincial Occupational Health and Safety Act (O.H.S.A.) ensures every employee that works in the province 3 basic rights.  One of these rights is the right to know about the hazards that exist in one’s workplace.  WHMIS legislation satisfies the employees right to know about physical, chemical and biological hazards in the workplace. 


Pre-requisites:  none

Pre-course Study:  Review company policy on Hazardous Materials in the workplace

                                     Review locations of MSDS in the workplace


Course Duration:  (4 hours)

Delivery Modes (Methodology)  Lecture, discussion, group exercises, scenarios



Upon Successful completion, the participant will receive a Safety and Compliance Training Inc. certificate of achievement entitled “Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System”
